Set to debut on October 14, 2018, the Supergirl season 4 trailer has already been released and this DC comics TV series is being anxiously awaited by the fans. The franchisee has received a lot of commercial success and critical acclaim due to superb performances, appealing visuals and interesting crossovers and hopefully the new season will be promising as well. The June finale of Supergirl set the scene for a very different fourth season. As the story moves forward, it features a tweaked cast and viewers will witness new creative direction.
Melissa Benoist will continue to play Kara Denvers/Supergirl. Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Mehcad Brooks as James Oslen, Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor, David Harewood as Hank Hensahw/J’onn J’onnz, Jess Rath as Brainiac 5 and Jeremy Jordan as winslow ‘Winn’ Schott will also continue. It has been confimrmed by the makers that Chris Wood, who played the character of Mon- El would not be seen this time.
Rhona Mitra as Mercy Graves, Brent Spiner as Vice President Baker and Sam Witwer as hero agent Libertty will be new additions to the cast. Nicole Maines, who is TV’s first ever transgender superhero, will be now be a regular as Nia Nal/Dreamer. Supergirl is the story of Superman’s biological cousin who is forced to reveal her hidden powers and to save the inhabitants when the National City is threatened by an unexpected disaster.
Season 3 saw Supergirl stop Reign along with other Worldkillers’s threat to humanity. Kara was shocked to find out that her mother Alura was still alive and was living in a salvaged Argo city that has somehow survived the destruction of Krypton. Kara comes to the realization that Earth is now her true home where big chances await her and her friends in National City. A Russian doppelganger of Kara was also revealed in the final moments of season 3 and it seems season will see Kara facing lot of troubles because of her evil twin. The showrunners have confirmed that the new season of Supergril will pay homage to the Superman: Red Son storyline. According to Robert Rovner, one of the executive producers of the series, the new season will depict a new rise
in anti-alien sentiment. Kara’s journey will be full of struggle as she represents what the whole country is afraid of. She will speak out on social issues and be portrayed as a superhero as much as a Supergirl. Season 4 is also expected to introduce Gotham City and Batwoman.
