A woman is a full circle. Within her, is the power to create, transform and nurture. The strength of a woman is unknown until she bears a child in her. They say the pain of giving birth equals to several bones breaking at a time. And to bear that pain, what we need is immense strength, energy and mind space. Pregnant women are constantly looking out for exercises and nutrition for a safe and healthy delivery, but at the same time also want to rest and be comfortable. Pregnancy can be extremely confusing when it comes to what is good for you and what isn’t. At the same time, there are so many relatives, neighbors and acquaintances pouring in with their free advices for you. That is exactly what confuses us more and what we do not need in our life. Let us help you burst some common myths about pregnancy, making it easier for you to narrow down on what is good for you and your child.
- There is no such thing as an ideal or perfect pregnancy – Being pregnant is a highly individual and personal experience for each mother. While some might have it tough and for others it might seem like a cake walk, all you have to remember is to truly enjoy and embrace this beautiful journey of being in one with your child.
- You don’t have to eat for 2 – A lot of women mistake that they have to eat more or for two people when they are carrying. This is a big mistake. While you definitely need more energy (and thus, food) to endure the weight and pains of pregnancy, eating for two, will only have you putting on more weight. What you do have to do though is make healthier choice and eat mindfully.
- All women go through postpartum depression – while your hormones can really play you off during this phase of your life. It is not uncontrollable. You need to remember to keep yourself occupied mentally as well as physically, for you and your child to be happy.
Remember, you never really understand life until it grows inside of you. Motherhood is a beautiful feeling and we hope you all embrace and thrive in it.
